A White Claw short for Sundance Film Festival.
In the spirit of White Claw’s namesake wave, they’re always looking for new ways to crash into culture and support the next wave of artists.
When they sponsored Sundance, it was only natural to tap an up-and-comer for their film that premiered at the festival.
We kept the brief looser than normal, and bid three directors that came out of the Sundance Ignite program.
We were especially inspired by Laura M Gonçalves’ vision to tell a story about a filmmaker’s sacrifice and extreme pursuit of their purpose. “First Light” follows a creator trekking to capture the sunrise. The hero talent was a budding cinematographer, staying true to White Claw’s mission all the way through.
